IBI Group's Vancouver office is searching for a Architectural Technologist or Contract Administrator to join its Residential High-Rise (Living+) Studio. You will be a vital part of our team in, completing working drawings and managing and performing site reviews for projects through the construction phase. Working with senior staff, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing consultants, contractor’s requests, quality and design site reviews, shop drawing reviews and processing change requests. Your ability to make educated design decisions on site and liaise with the office project architect will be crucial.

Most of the things you’ll work on:

  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for client review
  • Development of permit application, building permit application and construction drawings  
  • Support the project manager with field services and construction administration
  • Have the ability to multitask, prioritize and support multiple projects and responsibilities

Qualifications

You'll Need to Have:

  • A degree from a recognized Architectural Technology Program 
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of related experience on large scale projects 
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures in the province of BC
  • Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and to create technical documents that succinctly describe the work to be done
  • Experience as a technologist in an architectural firm with a focus on Revit based projects is an absolute must
  • Local knowledge considered an asset
  • High-rise mixed-use experience considered an asset 
  • Wood frame and concrete construction an asset

Additional Information

Due to COVID 19, we have implemented a work from home model until we return to the office. When we return to the office, you must be able to commute to our location at 1353 Ellis St.
