Company Description

We are now creating a new Category Area from CA Comfort and CA Textiles which will from April 1st be the home base for more than 340 co-workers in 15 different countries. Our task is to source textiles, furniture covers, carpets, sofas, work chairs, mattresses, and so on, for all the IKEA stores globally. We are passionate about textiles and comfort and work closely with approx. 220 suppliers and partners across the world to produce and source affordable home furnishing products for the many people.

Job Description

As Sustainability Manager you will in close cooperation with the Category Area Management Team contribute to the development and implementation of the Category Plans, setting sustainability priorities and goals to make our materials, supply chain and products more sustainable in our constant strive to create a positive impact for people, society and the planet.  You work together with Category Managers and business development teams in your area of responsibility to support them in developing and implementing the actions plans that have been agreed with the suppliers. You will be a member of Category Area management team.
In this role you will report to Category Area Manager, Tina Stilleborn.
 
More in detail the assignment consists of: 
• Lead, contribute to and/or coordinate development projects in line with Category plans and 
• Ensure compliance to sustainability working methods and IWAY 
• Lead the team of Sustainability developers 
• Lead sustainability related competence development initiatives specific to Category Area.
• Contribute to develop and implement the Material directions
•    Lead and develop Sustainability topics on specific Category Area level
•    Secure Category Area specific sustainability working methods and tools are developed and implemented.

Qualifications

With experience from working with identifying short and long term sustainability potentials and risks you have deep sustainability and business understanding and a strong customer focus. You have experience with developing business strategy with clearly defined priorities and leading all involved people towards achieving it. You know that key to success is to have motivated and competent people on-board and have in your current and previous positions proven your ability in leading and developing both business and people. You have the ability to bring out the best in the people and organisations you encounter and you lead with IKEA culture and values.
