Lemay is looking for a simulation expert for its Sustainability team. The candidate will play a key role in the development of high-profile projects with ambitious energy and environmental objectives, in line with Lemay’s Net Positive approach. They stand out by their precision, versatility, ability to synthesize and knowledge of energy and comfort simulations.

Job Description

What you will accomplish with us

  • Carry out energy, comfort and design validation studies for the firm's projects;
  • Propose innovative energy approaches with the support of simulation tools, particularly in the pre-design and design phase for large-scale projects in Canada and internationally;
  • Identify opportunities for sustainable strategies and propose solutions for projects: orientation optimization, envelope, natural ventilation, passive design;
  • Produce calculations, presentations and arguments for the firm's internal and external clients;
  • Participate in further developing the use of simulation tools, in line with the firm’s design processes and three pillars: design excellence, Net Positive and transdisciplinary delivery;
  • Act as an internal authority on energy and comfort strategies;
  • Contribute to developing and implementing Lemay's Net Positive approach.

What you need

  • University degree in engineering or architecture;
  • At least 5 to 7 years experience in energy simulation;
  • Knowledge of industry software such as: Cove.tool, Sketchup Skelion, ShadeData, IES VE, eQUEST;
  • In-depth understanding of real-estate project development processes;
  • Skill for popularizing bioclimatic, Net Zero and Passive building concepts;
  • Basic knowledge of key mechanical systems;
  • Knowledge of Passive House principles for architectural designers, partners and clients;
  • Knowledge of Revit software and various plug-ins (an asset);
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Very good writing skills;
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team;
  • Demonstrated autonomy, flexibility and versatility.
