We are seeking a dynamic Senior Tax Associate for a multi-client facing position.  The ideal candidate has strong tax expertise, enjoys working with leaders of entrepreneurial companies, is experienced in tax and workpaper preparation, comfortable with tax and compliance research, is curious, enjoys providing a high level of service partnered with high attention to accuracy, welcomes the challenges that come with change, ensures best practices, embraces learning, desires to improve processes, effectively manages multiple priorities, and comfortably navigates back and forth between strategic and tactical activities. Job Description

The Senior Tax Associate acts as a partner with our clients and staff to meet all compliance and tax deadlines.  This position is hands-on in the completion of tax workpapers and preparation of tax returns as well as necessary governmental filings at the state, county, and city levels.  This position will also assist with development, design, and management of internal processes for tax workflows.  [NM1] This position will work closely with the internal e2E team to maintain up to date tax expectations and compliance for our clients. This position reports to the Director of Tax. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quality tax and compliance solutions to clients
  • Prepare tax workpapers and tax returns for Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Individuals, Fiduciaries, and Private Foundations
  • Prepare and review quarterly estimated tax payments for individuals and corporations
  • Research and register clients with necessary governmental entities for compliance and filings
  • Keep abreast of federal, state, and local legislation affecting tax reporting, practices and procedures as well as assisting with the communication of changes to clients and staff
  • Educate clients and staff on applicable legislation to ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines
  • Develop and assist in administering internal tax and compliance procedures with e2E staff to ensure internal and regulatory deadlines are met[NM2] 
  • Maintain effective communication with team members working on the same clients
  • Be available for client conference calls and meetings on a regular basis

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in a variety of bookkeeping and tax compliance software products
  • Experience researching and registering with the necessary city, county, and state departments to maintain necessary client compliance 
  • Experience in preparing Corporation, S Corporation, Partnership, Individual, Fiduciary and Private Foundation returns with supporting documentation
  • Experience in preparing estimated tax payments for individuals and corporations
  • Experience in researching technical tax matters and knowledgeable about best practices
  • Customer Service Oriented - is responsive and dedicated to assisting others, providing information, and resolving issues timely and accurately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to present recommendations and plans to senior management teams and key client representatives with poise and professionalism
  • Client focus with a strong desire to identify client needs and create actionable solutions
  • Forward-thinker that can leverage technology and process improvement opportunities
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and ability to roll up sleeves and dive into the details

  • Exhibits comfort with ambiguity and flexibility - takes initiative and strives for results

Qualifications

  • University degree in the field of accounting, finance, or another similar discipline
  • 5+ years of tax preparation experience in private or public accounting firm
  • CPA certification welcomed but not required
  • All offers contingent on successful completion of background screen.
