Job Description

Position Purpose

Strategy touches almost every facet of LaneTerralever’s; we think of it as the foundation of meaningful work. We consider the strategy team to be a resource for our clients and our internal teams, armed with the insights to make all the work as compelling and our strategies as impactful as possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Research

  • Conduct preliminary research on current and potential clients, their consumers and the category they reside in, noting universal truths and nuanced differences to draw upon when drafting briefs, RFPs, POVs and pitch presentations
  • Read and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to formulate insights necessary to create powerful stories
  • Develop, design, program and analyze primary qualitative and quantitative research studies
  • Gather and relay relevant information about trends and insights for the agency as to stay up to date and savvy on the marketing landscape

 Facilitate

  • Develop, design and facilitate audience and client, customer journey and empathy map workshops
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with internal and external audiences

Analyze

  • Distill actionable and applicable strategies from consumer insights
  • Help connect the strategy to other disciplines
  • Identify clients’ business problems to be solved

 Develop

  • Craft audience messaging, including value proposition, positioning, brand tenets, craft brand tenets
  • Develop personas/profiles based on consumer and media consumption insights
  • Develop brand architecture to support growing and evolving brands
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for B2B and B2C clients
  • Develop creative and project briefs
  • Develop research-based content to support marketing and sales efforts

Qualifications

  • At least two years experience playing in the strategy end of the pool (could be directly or indirectly)
  • Relentless effort to solve-problems and create strategic solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally
  • Knack for research and insight ideation
  • Confidence to question the norm and go against the grain
  • Strong writing and presentation skills; articulate expression of knowledge and ability to guide understanding
  • Sense of leadership through tangible and measurable action
  • Unyielding curiosity about the world and all there is to learn
  • Genuine intrigue about the cross-functions of the agency and authentic belief that it takes a team to move a mountain
