 Sales & Business Development Manager

 GAIA Insights is a boutique firm providing premium leadership development solutions for global players in various industries. By partnering to understand our clients’ needs, we design and deliver highly engaging learning experiences that cater to the aspirations of next generation leaders. The Sales & Business Development Manager is a newly created role at GAIA Insights to support our business growth. As a successful hire, you will promote and sell our learning portfolio to European clients with a global reach.

You will enjoy this role if you like to…

  • chase and close new business starting with lead generation via cold calling all the way to inbound lead follow-up, to ensure sales goals are met
  • develop creative ways and approaches to sell our learning solutions
  • actively drive promotion initiatives as part of the Marketing and Communications team
  • independently manage a sales pipeline and funnel, with long-term continuity in mind
  • act as a GAIA Insights ambassador of the commercial portfolio, representing our strong vision, mission and values
  • position GAIA Insights as the premium niche provider for highly customized leadership development journeys on the market
  • identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services, using online research, industry events, publications
  • define target companies, identify potential clients, approach appropriate contacts to investigate their needs
  • be the first point of contact to introduce GAIA Insights to corporate clients around the world
  • network with key decision makers in the industry online and offline, seek opportunities to connect and pitch GAIA Insights services
  • contact existing clients to update them about new developments/offerings at GAIA Insights
  • carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present findings/recommendations to the GAIA Insights Leadership Team
  • be extremely resourceful with budgets; protect GAIA Insights’ intellectual property and maintain confidentiality
  • communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders by using a vast variety of digital tools and channels on a day-to-day basis
  • attend weekly calls with other GAIA Insights team members and various other stakeholders as necessary; occasional face-to-face meetings might occur
  • work with a global team of hard-working enthusiasts

    Qualifications

    • hungry to sell and highly competitive while respecting strong ethics and values
    • self-starter who is prepared to knock on doors remotely and in real life when needed
    • experience in business development and consultative selling within the corporate leadership development market in an international context
    • well connected to a network of relevant senior decision makers across industries, in large, global, corporate environments
    • in-depth knowledge of the learning industry and its trends, always curious to learn
    • proven sales track record and references
    • active listener with a compelling sales personality, professional and socially adept
    • outstanding communication and organization/coordination skills
    • driven by excellence, attention to detail, diligence and a mastery of self-management
    • quick learner, flexible, perseverant, seeking alternative solutions to problems
    • highly resilient when dealing with challenges, ambiguity and a work environment that’s high on vision, continuous change and uncertainty
    • ambitious, energetic, self-motivated and willing to go the extra mile
    • fluent English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus
    • familiar with many of the following applications (and not afraid of trying new tools): Adobe Connect, EtherCalc, Excel, LinkedIn, Outlook, Podio, PowerPoint, ShareFile, Skype, SurveyMonkey, Trello, Word, Yammer, etc.
    • flexible to work across time zones to connect with global clients
    • ability to work effectively in a virtual team with different working schedules
    • fully equipped home office with stable internet connection 24/7, this should include a quiet workspace to attend meetings with a professional background and free from noise or interruptions
