IKEA Range & Supply has the responsibility to develop, design, produce and supply IKEA retail channels with home furnishing solutions available to the many people. Each year IKEA Range & Supply introduces 2,000 new products in the 424 IKEA stores and other multichannel touchpoints around the world. The total range is almost 10,000 products. We will strengthen the core of what we do in Range & Supply and Marketing & Communication is one of these areas. Marketing & Communication (M&C) focuses on strategic development of the IKEA product and range marketing and communication, brand building communication as well as communication to the many people inside and outside of IKEA.

The function M&C Intelligence and the role as M&C Intelligence Leader are new where you will take part of shaping it.  Together with the M&C intelligence team, you will be responsible for leading the market research and data analytics function in Marketing & Communication, Range & Supply, securing that marketing & communication is built on profound knowledge, based on actionable and accessible user insights. You will identify and define what Marketing & Communication data, facts (information) and insights lay the foundation for strategic and business planning. You will combine new and existing knowledge about people, life at home, market context, business strategies, and IKEA brand performance and you will follow up and ensure all research & insights relevant to brand communication decisions are properly used and fully optimized to support the business and the creative approach. You make insight actionable by identifying, finding gaps and priorities that leads to growth opportunities.

Job Description

Your assignment will also include;
• Clarifying the main issues and challenges that the marketing & communication is supposed to overcome and propose a compelling approach and plan.
• Leading the work of strengthening creative briefs with insights and strategic thinking, to ensure the work is on-brief.
• Participating in and/or leading research projects within the intelligence area.

You will lead the intelligence area on in close collaboration with the business and stakeholders across the IKEA Network and you will facilitate creative briefings, brainstorming sessions and workshops to help develop creative actions. This will require both extensive leadership experience and strong facilitation- and interpersonal skills but also in-depth knowledge of using insight products, methods and tools to help the business make better decisions.

Qualifications

You have a growth mind-set, you are curious to explore and eager to learn and you have the ability to inspire and influence creation. 

Other things we value are;
• In-depth knowledge of IKEA business throughout the value chain and the IKEA Strategic Framework, strategy process and business planning.
• Understanding of strategic segmentation, positioning, customer journey and customer experience.
• Social/digital channel understanding essential.
• Proven experience as a Planner (or similar), leading user research and developing insights for numerous international communication concepts that have been exceptionally successful.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
