BROAD FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:

The JDRF Director, Content (Storytelling), produces content – written and visual -- across multiple channels to raise brand awareness, engage stakeholders and tell the story of JDRF’s impact.  The position’s responsibilities are split between creating content and content strategy and managing a variety of communications projects from ideation through distribution and analytics.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write creative and compelling copy that drives audiences to engage with organization by donating, fundraising, attending events or volunteering.
  • Creates content for digital channels in partnership with the digital team to drive the cross-platform marketing strategy
  • Leads in-house video creation (interviews, short video clips) 
  • Supports digital content creation and planning
  • Partner with Project Managers and other constituents to craft and execute internal and external communication strategies and tactics for target audiences.
  • Create, proofread, and publish content (text articles, infographics, videos, interactive features, and other multimedia) across various digital channels
  • Supports adaptation of content for the web. Utilize design and writing skills to take the content that is produced by subject matter experts and apply it to the web using best practices.
  • Plans and builds out content on web pages in a compelling, visual, easy-to-navigate format.
  • Continually improve performance and effectiveness of projects and campaigns by capturing, monitoring and gathering metrics; making adjustments and recommendations as necessary.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years digital content experience
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to listen and understand how to execute the work according to needs
  • Strong portfolio of imaginative work with proven results that demonstrates understanding of brand
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Impeccable proofreading and editing skills
  • Excellent project management skills, organizational skills and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in WordPress or similar CMS
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Keynote, PowerPoint, etc.

EDUCATION:

BA degree or equivalent experience or knowledge
