Qualifications

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences (seng.nu.edu.kz) invites applications for an instructor position to begin in August 2020. Preferred candidates should have sufficient teaching experience/background or strong willingness for self-development to teaching a number of related electrical and computer engineering courses from the following areas: C/C++ programming, microprocessor and embedded systems, signals and systems, linear control theory, discrete mathematics and digital circuit design with FPGA, hardware/software co-design, electric/electronics circuit analysis and design, electric machines and drives, electric power systems, probability and statistics or other related.

We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in both research and teaching. Applicants should have been awarded a master degree from a reputable university, and are expected to have a number of conference publications in the areas of their expertise or other proven experience of involvement in research activities in past. The successful candidate should have research work potential, strong technical skills in the areas of their expertise and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

What we offer:

Initial appointment is on a 3-year renewable contract and subsequent appointments are subject to annual performance reviews. An attractive internationally competitive remuneration package will include: internationally competitive salary; holiday leave of 56 days per annum; health insurance; rent-free housing for the appointee and dependents and others.
