A squad of over 120 BEUMER Group employees work at the Doha airport, operating and maintaining our state-of-the-art baggage handling system that can handle up to 20,000 bags per hour.

Maintaining this beautiful beast requires a team that has the necessary skills and manpower to monitor, repair and keep it running smoothly 24/7.

This team will be yours to lead
“You will manage a very diverse team with over 20 nationalities and a myriad of different job titles, from control room operators and technicians to engineers and project managers. This brings many interesting facets to your leadership tasks,” says Caroline Gonsalves, Manager at People & Culture.

More specifically, you will:

• Lead, motivate and further develop the team
• Plan, coordinate and organise processes and tasks for the team
• Ensure optimal communication between the team and our clients, which includes contractors and airport employees
• Make sure our KPIs are met
• Ensure contractual compliance through well-established and documented processes
• Enable optimal collaboration with suppliers and partners

Take on interesting projects
Ensuring high client satisfaction will also be a top priority for you. As such, you will work to understand clients’ needs in order to spot challenges and opportunities for added value.

You will likewise take part in exciting operational and strategic projects to optimise our processes. This includes implementing and driving new reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) procedures.

“The World Cup is coming to Qatar in 2022. With this comes great plans for expansions in the Hamad International Airport and a need for new solutions for baggage handling. You will be quite hands-on as a manager, working mostly on-site, which means most of your workdays will be spent in the unique atmosphere of the airport.

Incredible leader with technical understanding
Planning, coordinating and organising is what you do best, and you are very capable of doing it independently, even in hectic situations that demand quick decisions.

You also have very diplomatic communicative skills, enabling you make a great personal impact on and collaborate well with colleagues, directors, suppliers, clients and everything in between.

• You have broad international leadership experience and are familiar with leading very diverse teams
• Preferably, you have experience with managing customer support or operation and maintenance teams
• You have great technical knowhow and preferably experience with baggage handling systems or other large technical systems
• You are fluent in English
• You are either already based in or willing to relocate to Doha on a long-term basis
