The Business Data Analyst will be responsible for analytics and reporting in Spear Education’s data integration and reporting processes. The role will be responsible for developing and improving operational and line of business performance reporting as well as providing other ad hoc metrics to support critical initiatives for their business unit.  

• Develop and manage portfolio of interactive and snapshot dashboards and reports using Tableau Prep Builder, Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Excel and other tools to help team members across various departments and roles (CEO, Manager, Contributor) to clearly and quickly gain insight into metrics relevant to key decisions that need to be made 
• Communicate key insights in written and verbal form and gather reporting requirements from business leaders 
• Perform quality assurance on ETL and interactive dashboards
• Monitor existing metrics, develop and propose new metrics, and identify new, actionable risk signals 
• Document methodology by which metrics are derived and any changes thereafter 
• Perform ad-hoc analyses and develop insights in support of current and future strategic initiatives 
• Perform validation exercises to assure Data Warehouse data accuracy by comparing alternative sources of data and identifying root cause for data accuracy issues 
• Support implementation of and work within a Tableau Server environment to build, deploy and automate various analyses and dashboard reports 
• Collaborate with Enterprise Data Technology team in all aspects/needs of Data Warehouse creation and Business Intelligence tool creation 
• Develop understanding of interdependencies between systems, datasets and processes, understand data models and schemas 
• Become subject matter expert on data queries from various databases. Develop and implement data collection systems and strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality 

• 3+ years of experience working with relational databases, data transformation, queries, customer facing processes and data dashboarding is necessary 
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred 
• Technical expertise working with data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques 
• Ability to provide Quality Assurance for ETL processes and interactive dashboards
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills 
• Proficient in business-logic data transformations (experience with Tableau Prep Builder a plus) 
• Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and develop recommendations
