Pathway of Continuous School Improvement Consultant

AMS believes in the power of quality Montessori to transform lives. The Pathway of Continuous School Improvement Consultant supports our member schools by giving them a mechanism for articulating their quality, and provides direction for ongoing, self-paced continuous improvement. The Consultant supports the organization in this work by working closely with AMS staff, consultants, member schools and subject-matter-experts cross-departmentally.


Reports to:  Director of School Quality and Accreditation

Works closely with:  Pathway Manager and Accreditation Department
Liaises with: Staff in all areas of the organization including Online Learning Staff, Marketing and Communications Staff, Development Team

Classification:  Part-time Consultant

Worksite: This is a remote position

Hourly rate: $40-$50 DOE 

 

Specific areas of focus include:

 

1)       Provide proactive customer service and encouragement to a growing number of schools participating in the AMS Pathway of Continuous School Improvement

  • Guide schools that participate in the Pathway of Continuous School Improvement by:
    • explaining the Pathway in detail
    • providing technical support to schools completing the Pathway Questionnaire
    • making a recommendation to AMS staff about a school’s assigned placement
    • helping AMS staff implement improvements based on the feedback from participants.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of a strategic marketing plan for recruiting participating schools.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive records to document information about school participating in the Pathway.

2)       Provide ongoing support and coaching to schools that are on the Pathway.

  • Make quarterly contact with participating schools to coach them and encourage them to be strategically thinking about the steps needed to move along the Pathway and offer support/guidance as needed.
  • Host cohort-style coaching sessions related to the standards addressed in the Pathway Steps.
  • Assist schools in the smooth transition from Pathway to accreditation candidacy.
  • Other tasks related to supporting schools, as needed by the Director

3)       Develop and gather resources for AMS Member Content / Knowledge Center relating to school improvement.

Qualifications

The Pathway of Continuous School Improvement Consultant is a mission-driven, creative, and self-directed thinker and doer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Montessori including 5 years of experience as a school leader, with a deep understanding of the Montessori Method and its delivery to children, adolescents and adult learners. The Consultant will possess the ability to interact with school leaders in a friendly, professional manner. The Consultant will be capable of detail-oriented work requiring a high level of organization and practical knowledge needed to design materials to support schools on the Pathway. The Consultant will also possess understanding on how to develop assessment and interpretation of data in order to make effective change.  

 

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

·         Bachelor’s Degree

·         Superior interpersonal skills and ability to handle issues with respect, confidentiality, and positivity

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Strong attention to detail

·         5 + years Head of School Experience

·         Experience in a Montessori setting
