Job Description

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences (seng.nu.edu.kz) invites applications for an instructor position to begin in January 2020. Preferred candidates should be focused on electrical engineering related areas such as power electronics, electric/electronic circuit analysis and design, and electromechanical systems.

Nazarbayev University is a new Western style, English-speaking University established in 2011. The University is well-endowed with substantial support from the government and aspire to be a top research University in the region. We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in both research and teaching. Applicants should have been awarded a master or equivalent degree from a reputable university, and are expected to have a number of conference publications in the areas of their expertise. The successful candidate should have research work potential, strong technical skills in the areas of their expertise and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in industry and alignment with thematic areas of the department would be favorably considered.

Initial appointment is on a 3-year renewable contract and subsequent appointments are subject to annual performance reviews. An attractive internationally competitive remuneration package will include: internationally competitive salary; holiday leave of 56 days per annum; health insurance; rent-free housing for the appointee and dependents and others.
