Department of Robotics of the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences (seng.nu.edu.kz) invites applications for postdoctoral researcher positions to begin in January 2020. Preferred candidates may be focused on soft robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles, medical/rehabilitation robotics, and robotic applications of machine learning.

We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in both research and teaching. Applicants should have been awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and are expected to have publications in top ranked journals/conferences in the areas of their expertise. Excellent communication skills and English fluency are required.

The postdoc will largely work independently under the supervision of a faculty member. The applicants are encouraged to contact the respective professors to identify research directions and further details on facilities and infrastructure. Postdoctoral Scholars are also expected to teach one course per academic year relevant to their area of research and/or based on Department’s needs.

Initial appointment is on a 1-year renewable contract with a possibility of annual renewal for up to 4 years maximum, subject to annual performance reviews. An attractive internationally competitive remuneration package will include internationally competitive salary; assistance for relocation expenses including shipment allowance and air fares for the appointee and dependents; and, an educational allowance for dependent children.

The NU campus is located in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, in the heart of the new and ultra-modern Left-Bank of the city.
