    Job Description

    Evergreen Center is currently seeking a full time Vocational Instructor who will participate in the identification, development and refinement of a vocational curriculum for students with moderate and severe disabilities.

    The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $55,000 commensurate with education and experience plus a $5000 new hire incentive bonus!  

    Responsibilities

    • Participates in the selection of appropriate resource materials for use by staff and students
    • Acts as a liaison with the community for the identification and assessment of volunteer or paid employment positions that may be applicable to the students enrolled at the Center
    • Acts as a resource teacher for the students in the development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate vocational services
    • Coordinates and completes vocational assessments for presentation at the annual IEP/ISP meetings
    • Uses documented evaluation information and participates in the decision making process concerning the placement of students in the vocational training program and determination of in class vocational opportunities sa well as collects data relative to performance on vocational tasks
    • Provides supervision, training and monitoring of the Job Coach / Job Finder
    • Trains and supervises students working or volunteering in community placements
    • Participate in completing task analysis, picture activity schedules and/or procedures necessary for instruction of students in individual work/training situations

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
    • At least two years of experience in the assessment, development and implementation of an in house and community based vocational programming for persons with developmental disabilities
    • Special Education Certification preferred
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with all students, their families, staff, management and public safety officials
    • Must be available to travel on an as needed basis
