This high-visibility role will help expand and enhance their their award winning software platform, adding new features and capabilities, in addition to developing new products to complement their core business. You will be involved in the full software development life cycle (Agile / Scrum) - from gathering business requirements and writing specifications, to coding, testing, and deploying in lab/staging environments. Their Developers are not just coders, but they create cutting-edge products that drive business and make the organization successful.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform software design, development and unit testing
  • Develop, test, and maintain distributed and scalable LAMP stack application
  • Implement major new features and feature improvements
  • Track and eliminate bugs or defects
  • Optimize code and queries for better performance
  • Assist with integration and usability testing
  • Daily contact and communication with Project Manager to report progress, identify issues, and define next steps

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of PHP and MySQL (LAMP stack)
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript/AJAX
  • Working knowledge of Javascript frameworks, particularly jQuery
  • Working knowledge of Linux or other BSD OSes
  • Working knowledge of design patterns and MVC frameworks
  • Solid understanding of SDLC
  • Working knowledge of git or other version control systems
  • Working knowledge of application architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies/frameworks
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and achieve goals with minimal supervision

Bonus Skills

  • Fluent in other programming languages
  • Knowledge of Agile Development Methodology
  • Some experience with large scale problems
  • Understanding of VoIP telephony architecture

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent in work experience and self-study.
  • Advanced degree is a plus.
