Job Description

Brief Posting Description                             

Mid to Senior-level development position. Serves in leadership role with assigned volunteers and constituents. Works with Peer to Peer fundraising events, some Outreach Programs and various office operations.  Supervises select volunteers or committees. Leadership responsibility for managing, coordinating and leveraging the comprehensive development areas of the chapter as assigned.

Detailed Description                      

In coordination with the Executive Director and volunteer leadership and committees, identify and cultivate new corporate sponsorships and individual partners for Chapter Peer to Peer Events and for the Chapter as a whole as determined by Executive Director. 

In coordination with the Executive Director and volunteer leadership and committees, cultivates, stewards and develops growth in returning corporate and individual chapter sponsorship partners and Corporate and Family Walk Teams and identifies new volunteer relationships through Outreach opportunties.

Maintains accurate and complete financial records for all corporate and individual sponsorship partners and volunteer relationships.

Maintains standards for all events and non-events programs established at the international level.

Accountable for meeting deadlines, responding to volunteers and other department requests.

Network with the resource team and other JDRF chapters to discuss best practices and share new ideas.

Collaborate with chapter staff to ensure the critical growth and success of the chapter.

Work in partnership with the Development Manager.

Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications

Five + (5+) years of fundraising (preferred) or business experience. CFRE a plus. Knowledge of fundraising and non-event fundraising activities is a must. Candidate must be a self-starter. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.  Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills.

Additional Details                            

This position is Lead Staff on Peer to Peer Fundraising Events and some Outreach Activities.  Also helps to support operational functions as well. Must be comfortable in a small staff situation where it is all hands on at times and will have flexibility in working on all events and programs as needed. Strong Volunteer partnerships - maintaining existing Partnerships and recruiting new Volunteers are both highly important for this role and essential at JDRF for success in the Chapter. Recognizes the value of Outreach Programs to connect with our constituency.
