Job Description

General Summary of Duties: The Surgery Center  Nurse Director is a professional nurse leader who is responsible for daily operation of the surgery center to ensure adherence of practice to the highest standards, regulatory requirements, budgeting and the coordination of all nursing. The Nurse Director manages the day-to-day clinical management, troubleshooting problem areas and the controlling all aspects of the surgical center’s functions under the supervision of the CEO and Medical Director.

Essential Functions:

  • The Nurse Manager is a professional nurse leader who is responsible for directing, and the coordination of all nursing, surgical technologists, materials manager, receptionist, and scheduling staff.
  • This position is responsible for supervising, organizing and implementing actions to ensure that optimal quality nursing care is provided according to the policies and procedures, established nursing care, and clinical operations as defined by the State of Illinois and the recommendations of the AORN.
  • The Nurse Manager manages the day-to-day clinical aspect, budget management, troubleshooting problem areas and the controlling all aspects of the surgical center’s functions under the supervision of the CEO.
  • The Nurse Manager is professionally responsible for the assessment, data collection, assure chart completeness, implementation and evaluation of patient care, and is accountable for the outcome of such care and demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of the patients served.
  • The nurse manager will be responsible for collecting and reporting on-going data reporting of all aspects of operations and patient care.
  • Coordinate block scheduling of physicians and anesthesia

Qualifications

Education:

  • RN with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience:

  • Current Ilinois State License required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Nursing Management/Leadership in a surgical setting
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a perioperative setting (Pre-Op, PACU, and OR preferred)
  • CNOR preferred
