Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:  

This position will manage and grow existing travel agent relationships and develop new relationships in order to expand these channels in a profitable manner to achieve the revenue targets as identified by the company. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and cultivate new agencies or agents that can cost effectively grow product distribution
  • Manage existing relationships with key accounts to continuously maximize their performance
  • Develop a calling strategy to achieve the sales targets for the company that prioritizes agencies by productivity and potential
  • Serve as primary point of contact with any agency in your assigned territory
  • Work closely with group and FIT sales teams to leverage contacts and sales efforts
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and deliver marketing material to support channel
  • Utilize contact and sales management system as required
  • Manage the creation of sales presentations, marketing collateral, emails, newsletters and tradeshows for this channel
  • Attend trade shows, organize and staff these shows
  • Create and deliver training programs online and in-person to agents and assigned accounts
  • Conduct regular webinars and sales events as needed with both agents and consumers as appropriate
  • Analyze sales reports for key trends and provide weekly sales updates on activities and opportunities, coordinate quarterly meetings with sales manager
  • Maintain agent database and ensure updated and accurate for any marketing initiatives
  • Participate and host familiarization trips as required
  • Develop and manage travel & tradeshow attendance in conjunction with the VP of Sales
  • Maximize travel agent channel for company and work to develop synergy whenever possible for sales calls & tradeshows
  • Manage process for customer feedback from travel agent clients and agencies
  • Other sales and marketing projects as requested
  • Complete expense and trip reports as required

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years in travel industry
  • Demonstrated successful sales history in the travel industry
  • An understanding of the sales process, including commission structures, marketing plans, incentives, overrides and group sales
  • Excellent communicator
  • Good public speaker and ability to develop and deliver presentations to both agency and consumer audiences
  • Strong initiative and self starter
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to travel as needed up to 75% of the year
