The Business Data Analyst will work closely with the Director, Operations and other corporate functions to support analytics and improvement in Spear Education’s data integration, reporting and processes. The role will be responsible for improving operational reporting, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), line of business performance reporting and other ad hoc metrics to support critical business initiatives. This position will work closely with our enterprise data technology team and will be expected to assist with configuration projects when there is need. A strong understanding of relational databases, customer facing processes and data dashboarding is necessary.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and manage portfolio of interactive and snapshot dashboards and reports using Tableau, Excel and other tools to help team members across various departments and roles (CEO, Manager, Contributor) to clearly and quickly gain insight into metrics relevant to key decisions that need to be made
• Communicates key insights in written and verbal form and gathers reporting requirements from business leaders
• Perform ad-hoc analyses and develop insights in support of current and future strategic initiatives
• Use statistical models (R, machine learning algorithms) to create predictive consumer behavior models
• Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
• Perform validation exercises to assure Warehouse data accuracy by comparing alternative sources of data and identifying root cause for data accuracy issues
• Implement and work with a Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reports (Ex: Create automated scripts for tableau workbook refresh when not using live connections)
• Collaborate with Enterprise Data Technology team in all aspects/needs of Data Warehouse creation and Business Intelligence tool creation
• Develop understanding of interdependencies between systems, datasets and processes, understand data models and schemas
• Become subject matter expert on data queries from various databases. Develop and implement data collection systems and strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality

Requirements

• Bachelors degree
• Technical expertise working with data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
• Proven ability to develop insightful dashboard ands and analyses using advanced data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc) and techniques
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Proficient in ETL, Data Transformations
• High energy, enthusiasm and excellent judgment; strong sense of urgency and bias for action
• Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and develop recommendations
• Proven ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment; team player

• Previous experience with NetSuite
