Spear Education is hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist to help us develop and execute automated and manual tests in order to ensure product quality. The Quality Assurance Specialist will work to design, develop and execute test strategy, test plans and test the requirements for SPEAR software and related systems in a team focused environment. The QA must possess strong SDLC, product development and analytical skills to understand business requirements and test accordingly. QA Specialists are responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by ensuring the delivery quality product design to meet the accuracy and performance expectations of our clients.

Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

  • Design, develop and maintain test strategies and related test plans as part of test strategies.
  • Establish a consistent, repeatable and continuously improving process for the quality delivery of our SaaS based products and solutions
  • Define and build client and product data to test both product, client and sales team scenarios
  • Perform automated and manual tests on multi-tiered SaaS enterprise platforms
  • Work with our business analyst and developers to develop test conditions and related scripts
  • Verify that bugs have been resolved and promoted to our production environment
  • Ensure quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked and resolved
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
  • Participate in planning activities such as user story creation, point estimation, expected testing scenarios while paying attention to testability

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend daily SCRUM Meetings and Sprint Meetings as part of our SaaS based solution platform
  • Perform in System Functionality Testing, GUI Testing, System Testing and Regression Testing
  • Track and report defects and initiate defect resolution process
  • Use best practice mechanisms and appropriate client baseline data to test, manage and validate client application
  • Coordinate and communicate test activities and results with key stakeholders
  • Maintain ownership of test activities which may include: baseline test data (golden copy), test plans, test scripts and test reports

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in software development practice as a developer or tester
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in QA practice, especially focusing on multi-tier SaaS platforms
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)

Additional Information

This is mostly a sedentary position, where normal bending, stooping and lifting are required. Ability to lift 25 pounds overhead. Ability to visually interpret written text, prepare written documents, communicate via telephone and use a variety of computer based business applications. This is an office type environment with normal noise levels, comfortable temperatures and no extreme conditions. Professional attire is required.
