Job Description

To research and provide charitable assistance options to Apligraf patients.  This position will be working in the Charitable Assistance Program and the work hours are 9:30 a.m.  6:00 p.m .(Monday - Friday).

  • Review high volume of Charitable Assistance Program (CAP) case requests and determine best suited charity program based on case details, patient assessments, and diagnosis indications.
  • Continuous outreach to patients and provide education, support and direction in obtaining financial assistance for the Apligraf treatment.
  • Develop professional and successful relationships with all customers, to include but not limited to: patients, health care professionals, internal staff, sales personnel, regional sales managers, and national accounts, non-profit organizations and other charity foundations.
  • Gain knowledge of the resources available in specific regions, including alternative resources and they can best be utilized to support patient assistance.
  • Research and document all potential assistance programs to include web searches, investigate hospital charity programs, as well as non- profit program criteria. 
  • Effectively communicate case status updates and outcomes to patients, physician offices, wound care centers, out-patient hospitals.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Health Care Administration, Business, Economics.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ of work experience in the health care industry.
  • Previous experience with health care policies, prior authorizations, coding and coverage for Apligraf to include the reimbursement structures via Medicare guidelines, state administered plans, as well as all commercial payors
  • Previous experience with Patient Assistance and Patient Advocacy Programs.
  • Medical Device or biologics experience preferred.
