Job Description


1. Treat each patient as your most important priority

2. Demonstrates competency in all procedures within the scope of practice    

3. Show friendliness and courtesy with each patient and family member   

4. Both in person and on the phone     

5. Respect privacy and preserve dignity     

6. Always observes confidentiality  

7. Communicate directly with your patient using age-appropriate communication and utilize language interpreter when necessary.   

8. Address patients concerns appropriately

9. Review of records

10. Organizes a plan of care that incorporates physician prescribed treatments, nursing assessments and diagnostic data in a manner that is:

A. Prioritized

               B. Timely

               C. Integrated with the surgical care plan      

                      D. Work as a team 

11. Completes patient admission/recovery/discharge as evidenced by on going chart review 



Maintain yearly required programs:

A. Patient Safety

B. Infection Control/OSHA

C. Annual TB Testing

D. Fire Safety

E. All codes

F. Locate assist with maintaining MSDS

G. Competencies for HCG test, Glucose, EKG, Nebulizer treatment

      






Qualifications

1. Current Illinois license as a Registered Nurse


2. BLS, ACLS, PALS, certification within 3-6 months of hire and maintains during the course of employment.


3. Outgoing, friendly personality with ability to take initiative.


4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


5. Written and oral communication skills.


6. Responsible for work schedule including using computer for timely attendance and accuracy.
