CONTROLTEC is seeking a hardworking, knowledgeable and detail oriented Systems Administrator. The successful candidate will be team-oriented, should interact well with clients and high levels of the organization, and is able to take a project from inception to completion with moderate direction. Positive attitude is essential.  

Job Responsibilities:

• Work in collaboration with the rest of the IT team, you will:

o Be accountable for the Information Technology infrastructure 

o Develop and maintain all systems, applications, security, and network configurations

o Be responsible for the daily administration of Linux environment, related servers, security and network devices 

o Troubleshoot network performance issues and helps to create and maintain disaster recovery plans 

o Install, test and administer enhancements to existing hardware and software 

o Maintain servers to ensure trouble free operation and to ensure security 

o Ensure data recoverability by conducting a schedule of system backups and disaster recovery scenarios

o Configure offsite backups and verify they are completing successfully 

o Manage high level infrastructure related projects 

o Work to ensure continuous infrastructure continuity

Minimum Requirements:

• 2-5+ years System Administration experience in a Linux environment 

• 3+ years experience with server hardware & networking 

• Strong scripting experience (bash, python, etc.)

• Advanced knowledge of installations, upgrades and troubleshooting of Linux systems.

• Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently 

• Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization and customer base

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• CCNA or equivalent knowledge of network administration (switches, routers, firewalls, servers, and laptops) 

• Familiarity with Ubuntu or other Debian based Linux distributions.

• Experience in designing and improving system architecture

• Experience with cloud computing services such as Amazon Web Services and Google Compute Engine.

Education 

• 4-year degree in IT, MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience
