Job Description

Summary: Full-time, salaried position responsible for providing technical expertise, data manipulation, support data analysis and report development for the Students Accounts unit of the Student Financial Services Department.

This position is exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore is not eligible to earn overtime pay or compensatory time off for additional hours worked.

Essential Functions:
• Design, develop and validate the data tables used for student account charges.
• Create and maintain reports using Jenzabar data, providing for SFS institutional, state, federal and foundation needs.
• Manage the 1098t and 1042-S IRS tax documents process according to government standards. Produce the government data files, submit files to the IRS and interact as needed with students to ensure data is received.
• Provide the interface and accurate timely data transfer between college vendors such as SALT, Chartwells, Wiley and as well as departments within the university.
• Manage all upgrades to the Jenzabar system and serve as the subject matter expert on the student account charges and produce timely and accurate statements to students.
• Update and develop online forms, report templates and term and specific messaging.
• Assist the Senior Director of Student Accounts in the overall management of the student account AR and the servicing of student accounts by the unit.
• Chair the SFS Coordination Committee with representatives from all applicable university departments.
• Other special projects and additional duties as assigned to enhance the level of service and commitment to students, their families and the University.

Qualifications

Experience, Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Required
• Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of experience managing relational databases, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Higher education and Jenzabar experience preferred.
• Excellent computer proficiency required, with experience in ERP systems and database support, strong proficiency in MS Office including Access and SharePoint.
• Proven ability to be successful in a fast paced team environment and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills and ability to quickly learn and apply new information.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and follow-up and follow-through skills
• Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships to ensure student’s best interests are upheld
• Proven ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential information; familiarity with FERPA regulations
• Proven customer service skills and enthusiasm for providing exceptional service to diverse populations not limited to students but to families and the university community at large.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision as well as accept and provide direction as needed.

Work Conditions
• Work in office environment, involving contact with students, faculty, staff, parents, and service providers.
• Work has deadlines, multiple interruptions, high volume and may be stressful at times.
• Occasional night and/or evening hours required to meet requirements of the position.
