Job Description

The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for executing on the Spear communications strategies.  This person will assist in the creation of marketing assets which clearly communicate the Spear Mission, Brand and our product offerings with clear, concise writing that engages and informs current and prospective customers, maintains brand consistency and drives intended business outcomes.

Role Summary:         

  • Executes on digital communication strategy including PR, Brand Management and digest and influencer marketing to increase overall viewership and engagement. 
  • Drafts and edits content to support marketing/communications, primarily by drafting copy for web pages, email campaigns, social media, collateral, sales-enablement tools and a range of other materials.
  • Interviews faculty and clinicians to help strengthen and layer the original content being developed by the MARCOM team.
  • Help mine and create news stories and contributed article topics/content, above and beyond the press release cycle
  • Oversee content providers ensuring that written content pipeline is adequate to meet business needs.
  • Optimize content to ensure it accomplishes business goals working to improve time from first visit to demo and funnel conversion metrics.  
  • Oversee experimentation to ensure that digital publication is driving the leading edge of Spear.
  • Ensure SEO best practices are applied to all online content. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or similar.
  • 1+ years in a Marketing Communications role in an organization of similar size and scope as Spear Education.
  • 1+ years of experience editing AP style publications within a professional environment
  • Experience producing content in a deadline driven environment.
  • Experience in an Agile Environment a plus.
  • Proven ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.
