We are seeking a NEPA/Ecologist/ESA Specialist to join our Indiana team, reporting to the Indiana Regional Manager and working from our Indianapolis office. The right person will enjoy:

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate must be experienced with the completion of NEPA documents and the Indiana Department of Transportation’s (INDOT) environmental process. They must meet INDOT ecological training requirements and waterway permit pre-qualification requirements. Experience in wetland delineation, wetland and stream quality assessments, and endangered species habitat assessments required. Excellent written and oral communication skills, familiarity with standard office software packages, and the ability to work as a team member are important.

Job Description

Our desired, well-rounded candidate will also be able to prepare technical reports and proposals, coordinate and communicate with staff and clients regarding project status, maintain schedules and project budgets, and contribute to marketing efforts, as needed. The job does involve fieldwork, which may include travel away from home around the state and regionally, as well as overnight.

Qualifications

Experience in wetland delineations using Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual, applicable Regional Supplement to the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual: Classification of Wetlands and Deepwater Habitats of the United States and Wilhelm’s and Masters’ Floristic Quality Assessment (FQA) Program, Indiana Database resources are a MUST. Other required experience includes the ability to evaluate streams using QHEI and/or HHEI indices, and conducting ESA Screening and Phase I and II.
