Darby Smart is the leading platform for shoppable video - viewers can 'watch and shop', and our video creators can get paid. We are creating a new economy for creatives, and helping our partner brands and retailers sell their products, using authentic user-generated video.  Darby Smart has video creators filming and publishing videos on beauty, recipes and DIY, and reaches millions of monthly viewers.

Based on the success of the Beauty video category, we are in the process of launching our first physical product line (Shero Science - https://www.sheroscience.com/).  Once this brand is out of stealth, we will use the power of our UGC videos, and community, to promote and sell it.

What You’ll Be Doing:

You'll be building out our products and systems (databases to APIs to UIs) to delight our users and build a thriving online community.  You'll help drive decisions on how best to nurture our products, mentor and grow other engineers and build robust, reusable, maintainable code.  

More than anything else, this is a real opportunity to make an impact - we have a small engineering team today so everything you do, minute-by-minute, impacts the company's success.

Who You Are:

• You have a relentless drive, work with a sense of urgency, and meet your commitments

• Experience in some of our core languages and technologies, with a good knowledge of their associated ecosystems (rust, vue, Ruby on Rails, python, React, node.js, Docker, AWS, Swift)

• Demonstrated skills in delivering high-quality code

• Expert understanding of object-oriented/data-centric programming

• Deep experience with embedded databases and other system datastores

• Expert at designing and building RESTful APIs to connect to back-end services

• Good sense of UI design and a user-oriented focus

• A knack for benchmarking and optimization

• Proficient with code versioning tools

• Familiarity with continuous integration
