We are currently looking for a skilled and analytical PHP Developer to join our Reporting & Data Science Team.

Our Reporting & Data Science Team generates analysis and reports based on big amounts of data. The goal is to support important business decisions by analyzing critical and relevant KPIs, process them visually and thereby solve complex business problems. The Team handles terabytes of data and acts as a central data storage. It works closely together with other teams and other companies to provide the basis for good business decisions.

Challenges the team will be working on in the next 12 months:

• Creating even more personalized real-time recommendations & sortings
• Fitting in data from external providers (third-party APIs and file transfers in various data formats)
• Deeper integration of our business intelligence products into B2B solutions

What you will do

• Collect data from various internal and external data sources and formats, transform them into consistent formats and deliver them to over 170 internal data points
• Develop APIs (using Lumen) for our internal stakeholders to support them in important business decisions
• Follow test-driven development
• Work with Kanban and agile processes, that are adapted to the team’s and project’s needs

Who you are

• Excellent coding skills in PHP 7 (minimum of 2 years experience)
• Practical experience of at least 1 year with PHP frameworks (Laravel or Symfony required, others appreciated)
• Experience with MySQL
• Self-dependent and hard-working
• Passionate and eager to learn
• Analytical way of thinking to problem-solve
• Very good written and spoken English skills

Nice to have:

• Past experience with Google BigQuery
• Passionate about data warehouse concepts
• Knowledge of other frameworks and (OOP) languages
• Experience with large data warehouses in relational databases
• Frontend experience with Vue.js or React.js
