Smart Water Engineer (stormwater networks)

Company Description

Our client is a major actor for the protection of resources and water management all over the world.

They recently opened a new innovation centre with strategic R&D projects in water management and conservation.

One of those projects aims at the development of an improved decision support system for operators of the storm water network. Using rainfall forecasts, an extensive array of sensors and advanced models, this real-time system will be able to provide users with key insights and strategies to better manage rain events.

To lead this initiative, they are looking for their Smart Water Engineer, based in the innovation center in Singapore.


Job Description

Smart Water is the IT revolution applied to the water business. Decreasing sensing and transmission costs allow for an increase in the amount of data on networks. Combined with growing computing capacities it enables advanced systems transforming network management. 

A Smart Water engineer in stormwater networks is proficient in network modelling and in operations as much as he must be interested in IT.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • To analyze the results provided by the system and propose improvements
  • To coordinate with the contractors or partners in charge of the model evolutions (if any)
  • To write user stories for the development team and validate the developments
  • To manage the system configuration in collaboration with PUB

You will be working very closely with the Development team in Singapore, the Product Owner in France and with our client's partner, PUB.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in Storm Water Modeling: Hydrological and hydraulic models (SOBEK, MIKE, SWMM)
  • Civil or Environmental engineering background
  • Knowledge of separate networks is required
  • Experience in Hydrodynamics and Water Quality modeling (Delft3D or others) would be a plus
  • Experience in Combined Sewer systems and in Drinking Water Networks modeling and operations will be appreciated
  • Autonomous and flexible individual with a hands-on attitude
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
