At Microstrategy, UX/UI Designer to work with our UX Designers to solve complex user interactions and bring their design concepts to life through iconography, typography, color, and space. With a focus on complex data, our challenge is to ensure that our interfaces are beautiful, intuitive and usable without compromising on features or functionality. 

As a UX/UI Designer, your focus will be on creating designs that inspire, engage and empower our users to utilize the power of their data. You’ll rely on user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visuals—from concept to execution—across many platforms, and collaborate with your fellow designers to constantly refine the Microstrategy design language and standards. You will also help to conceive and build interactive demos and prototypes of new design concepts and features for consumption by senior stakeholders, as well as for use in usability research and testing. Finally, you will also play a part in defining and promoting design culture and design thinking throughout the company.

As a User Experience Designer at MicroStrategy, you will:

• Work with a team of UX Designers on innovative interfaces that solve complex user problems.
• Maintain and champion the user-centered design process
• Define and execute design standards and patters to ensure consistency across products and services
• Communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale
• Present the user interface visually, prioritizing an interface that is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to find
• Market and promote products and features internally so that stakeholders understand what they're getting and what the benefits are
• Design and deliver interactive demos and prototypes for internal and external testing and promotion

In order to be successful in this role, we expect that qualified candidates will bring the following experience, skills, and attributes to the job: 

• BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing interactive applications
• Experience designing enterprise software.
• Experience with designing complex interfaces.
• Web, mobile and desktop design experience
• Excellent CSS and HTML5 skills
• Solid knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
• Proven ability to communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale within a user-centered design process.
• Comfortable creating video and interactive demos of design concepts.
