Job Description

Work as part of the Fayetteville Operations team to coordinate the forecasting and scheduling of material requirements. The Materials Planning Specialist will interface with all departments to assure customer delivery dates are met efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule materials through the production cycle to assure high on-time delivery performance
  • Identify material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions
  • Work with Finance to ensure proper financial tracking and to correct any invoice, receiving, and pricing discrepancies
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to process all Return Material Authorizations and First Articles
  • Use Materials Resource Planning (MRP) system to identify and resolve scheduling issues
  • Track and expedite open purchase orders, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and DoD regulations
  • Assist with implementation of new MRP programs or systems
  • Interface with Production Specialist on routine work responsibilities and projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with MRP software packages a must, Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team atmosphere with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to work with automated purchase orders and supplier managed inventories
  • Strong math skills including understanding and applying conversion factors, ratios, percentages, and algebraic reasoning
  • Ability to work proactively to organize processes, with strong ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills (type at least 40 wpm) and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Credentials and Experience

  • Associates degree in Business or related field and two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Requirements:

  • Available to work Mon-Fri, approximately 40 hours per week
  • Available to work weekends, off-shifts, and overtime as required
