Job Description

Spear Education is hiring an IT/AV Support Staff. This position will provide design, planning, acquisition support, configuration, installation and on-site maintenance of all IT/AV components and systems. We are seeking a team-player who has experience with IT/AV responsibilities and has a passion for customer success. Spear is a mission-driven organization seeking an individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment, a passion for all things related to IT/AV, who is team-oriented as well as a self-starter on various tasks/projects, and a solid contributor who can provide the best customer service experience. You work closely with the system administration and AV Engineer to achieve common goals, create and update day to day operational checks to ensure system uptime, as well as participate in weekly meetings to discuss status report, roadblocks, and participate in various projects.

Role Snapshot 
IT responsibilities (Primary function):
• Provide first level user support for technology related issues.
• Assist with servicing, upgrading, and deploying computer systems and peripherals.
• Properly coordinate and escalate unresolved issues to other support tiers
• Diagnose and correct problems with computer hardware and software
• Follow up with end users, provide feedback, and direct issues through resolution.
• Troubleshoot (in person, telephone, or using standard remote connection) in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Effectively use helpdesk ticketing system for customer interaction and follow-up.
• Properly coordinate and escalate unresolved issues to other support tiers.
• Able to multitask and handle fast paced environments.
• Use analytical skills in problem-solving and troubleshooting technical solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.


A/V responsibilities (Secondary function):
• Assist inventory, tracking, and repair of all the equipment in the department.
• Assist A/V Administrator with setting up/shutting down of classrooms and auditorium.
• Creating and updating drawings, providing documentation of all installed systems and modification as needed.
• Assist with designing new A/V solutions when required by the customer and provide recommendations for items to be purchased.
• Support onsite and offsite events, classes, workshops, and seminars.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or GED completed
• Must be able to work weekends (Minimum 2 weekends per month required for this position)
• Ability to quickly learn new skills and technologies
• Great attention to detail
• Must be able to communicate and report issues clearly to management and upper-level staff
• Minimum A+ Certification
• Minimum of 2 years knowledge and experience in Windows 7, 8, 10, MAC OS X, IPhone, and Tablet devices
• Must be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds; moderate physical effort may be involved in moving, connecting, or troubleshooting equipment
• Minimum of 2 years in the audio/visual field that included A/V switching, processing, control systems, conferencing, equipment rack configuration, control programming (microphones, amplifiers, particular hardware/software, digital recording, video routers and markers, computer/video interface)

Mostly sedentary position, normal bending, stooping and lifting required. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while filming. Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted. Must be able to visually interpret written text, prepare written documents, communicate via telephone and use a variety of computer based business applications. Must be able to visually discern the color spectrum. Must be able to visually and audibly discern artifacts & noise in A/V systems.

Work Environment
Desk & Video Work: Office environment, moderate noise levels, comfortable temperature, no extreme conditions.
