Job Summary

Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives. Prepares detailed drawings of mechanical parts, components, and assemblies for engineering, manufacturing, or repair purposes using CAD equipment. Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables and supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problems. Work is reviewed for the application of sound professional judgment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings of mechanical or electrical parts, components, and assemblies for engineering, manufacturing, or repair purposes using CAD equipment.
• Generate/update GATR component and assembly drawings required for MRP BOM restructuring
• Generate/update GATR assembly drawing trees
• Generate new product drawings/documentation
• Provide design studies
• Work with GATR product line and generate concepts for component improvement
• Perform mechanical test and evaluation on components.
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Solid understanding of core mechanical concepts such as mechanics, heat transfer, physics, and strengths of materials
• Familiar with sheet metal, CNC, injection molding, and cast parts fabrication
• Thorough working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD software
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision

Credentials and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree
• Minimum 3 years engineering design experience

Special Requirements:

• Limited travel may be required
