Job Description

Luckie is seeking a dynamic Director or VP, Technology and Database Solutions that can lead Luckie’s innovation & technology practice. This position will support the vision and implementation of Luckie’s analytics, application development, database solutions and information technology services. We are looking for an innovative, strategic and client-facing creative technologist that knows marketing and technology solutions. The candidate should be excited to delight clients and prospective clients with custom solutions based on application of data and insights integrated into development or integrated product solution offerings to drive client business.  We are willing to staff this role in either our Duluth, GA  OR Birmingham, AL.


• Advise the agency regarding technology needs, lead a team of technology development resources, and be able to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty, when necessary.
• Identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s technology solutions, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to the business success.
• Assists with Luckie’s information technology, database and application development of strategic plans, policies, programs and schedules for our clients and partners.
• Able to lead, develop and implement a strategic data governance, security, and SDLC platform including SOC2 and ISO 27001.
• Able to drive technology solutions that accelerate and enhance creative output and product.
• Experience managing data warehouses, data integration architectures and designs with a business intelligence and analytics team.
• Serve as lead on SOC2 practices and ongoing audit compliance, policy interpretation and development through the internal IT team.
• Strong understanding of AWS hosting infrastructure and platforms.
• Experience in working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Constantly monitor and evaluate emerging technologies and digital trends.
• Manage ongoing in-sourcing and out-sourcing relationships directly or through the development team.
• Manage key milestones and deliverables of day-to-day development, data architecture, integration architecture, reporting solutions, and master data management (MDM).
• Establish & lead a strong operational backbone including establishing improved processes for support.
• Partner with BA, PMO, & Infrastructure organizations along with rest of the application & product teams to play a critical leadership role in moving existing workloads forward & leading new development for assigned solutions.
• Ensure that programs, initiatives & projects are delivered on-time and within budget. Manage risks appropriately & plan proactive mitigation.
• Regular status reporting including but not limited to budget, project & support status, resources to the President & other leadership as needed.
• Ability to provide real-time resource assignment and backlog, moving towards the use of an Agile development lifecycle.
• Ongoing strategic organizational planning and resource capacity planning for solutions and / or products.
• Responsible for activities involved in the analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, debugging and maintenance of:
      -Enterprise Data Warehouse technologies and architecture
      -Reporting platforms, such as Business Objects, Tableau, Cognos BI, or other
      -Database technologies, such as Hadoop, SQL and Oracle
      -MDM technologies, such as Informatica
       -Integration tools and architecture, such as Information Services
       -Additional tools and applications as deemed necessary
• Participation in the creation of technology roadmaps.
• Provide technical ownership for assigned applications, databases, integrations, and warehouse technology products.
• Driving effective alignment of technology initiatives to support business and IT strategies
• Management of developers and system administrators, including hiring, goal setting, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and skill development planning.
• Deliver solutions to meet critical business priorities, ensuring adequate system testing is completed, managed and reviewed to allow for more successful QA and UAT.
• Stay on top of technology trends and evolution for tools that fit into the areas of responsibility
• Additional duties as required or requested

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in systems engineering, including systems analysis, design and documentation.
• Skills or team management skills preferred in the following areas: CSS2 and 3, HTML5, AJAX, Javascript, JQuery, MS .Net, PHP, Ruby on Rails, LINQ, MVC, SQL Server, XML, XSLT; Exact Target or similar email application a plus.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of information technology computer systems and software and the ability to manage the entire spectrum of information technology operations.
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
• Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Strong understanding of CRM, database marketing and the Internet including industry trends, key players, terminology and overall dynamics of the marketplace.
• Experience with cloud-based solutions including AWS.
• Advanced negotiating skills and contract (statement of work) experience required.
• Proven hands-on experience with senior executives in medium to large business.
• Agency or Custom Software Experience a SIGNIFICANT PLUS.
