Job Description

A laboratory technician position is available at nanoComposix. Responsibilities include, but not limited to order fulfillment and inventory management support, operating and maintain instruments, general lab and infrastructure support, working with and supporting the product team to characterize nanomaterials, prepare certain standard products and certificates of analysis and carefully following relevant standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic laboratory tasks - buffer preparation, supply stocking, inventory and ordering, maintenance of equipment, update of associated logs.
  • Support order fulfillment, shipping and inventory management.
  • Assures all procedures and processing areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner.
  • Support the Operations department with the performance of process qualifications and validations for procedures and equipment.
  • Support the maintenance of product testing database and perform relevant statistical analyses associated with product specifications as needed.
  • Prepare and perform testing of finished nanomaterials per relevant SOP; release acceptable product. 
  • Perform testing as required for product validation and process validation on existing products; publish data accordingly.
  • Confers with management regarding assignments and schedule and manages/prioritizes tasks to meet assigned due dates.
  • Adheres to company safety and quality standards at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma with 6 months prior lab experience
  • Able to multi-task, handle frequently changing job functions, and rapidly learn new techniques and approaches
  • Excellent material handling skills
  • Pays significant attention to detail and carefully documents all procedures, observations and methodology
  • Fast learner, self-starter, personable, team-oriented and relates well to people at all levels
  • Able to keep organized data and records
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • US citizenship or green card

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • At least 2+ years’ prior related/hands on lab experience
  • Proficiency in using precision pipettes
  • Associates degree in science related discipline
  • Experience with UV-Vis, DLS, Zeta-Potential, pH meters, TEM 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds daily
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit and stand
