Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to support our commercial team in California and Arizona.  Successful candidates will thrive on variety and new challenges, excel at coaching and development, and have an eye for continuous improvement.

Job Objective:

Sales Manager with a high sense of urgency to take on the challenge of strong development and improved performance of all sales activities in a diverse Sales Division. Independently plan, organize, direct and coach the sales team to achieve maximum profitability and growth in accordance with Stellar’s Mission Statement and Vision. Continually expand the customer base and maintain supplier relationships. Develop innovative and strategic training and educational programs for customers and Outside Sales Representatives. Performance based incentives – high potential earning for high performing sales division! Position with ongoing variety, mobility and visibility both internal and external.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a business plan and a sales strategy for meeting and exceeding company sales goals and budget
  • Devises strategies and techniques necessary to increasingly achieve sales goals
  • Researches and creates action plans for growth in targeted areas and develops new customer opportunities
  • Motivate team and enhance customer relationships – personal visibility both inside and outside the company
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to continually generate new prospects
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the Outside Sales Representatives
  • Develops and maintains accountability program for the sales team and individual members
  • Provides ongoing performance management with all Outside Sales Representatives to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Outside Sales Representatives sales and activity performance
  • Develops a timely feedback process to senior management regarding performance
  • Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin
  • Maintains accurate records of all pricing, sales, and activity reports submitted by Outside Sales Representatives
  • Creates and conducts presentations for requests for proposals and their responses
  • Assists Outside Sales Representatives in preparation of proposals and presentations
  • Monitors and approves all expenses to meet budget goals
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business code of ethics and ensures that they are communicated and adhered to within the team

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures that all Outside Sales Representatives meet or exceed all activity standards for prospective calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes
  • Maintain a high sense of urgency throughout the team
  • Keeps sales staff accountable for keeping all commitments including Monthly and Annual budget requirements
  • Delegates duties and responsibility with accountability and follow-up
  • Sets realistic and achievable sales targets for Outside Sales Representatives
  • Ensures that all territories are covered and maintained during staffing changes
  • Conducts regular coaching and counseling with Outside Sales Representatives to build motivation and selling skills
  • Trains sales staff on Mystellarsaving, STARS suppliers
  • Holds weekly MMS conference calls
  • Monitors and holds suppliers accountable for forecasted results and meets with the top 25 at least once per quarter
  • Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Maintains key accounts and enhances customer relationships
  • Keeps Pioneer Reward Program current
  • Assists with promotional programs such as Open Houses and blitz campaigns
  • Communicate on a regular basis with branch managers on Outside Sales Representative performance and engagement
  • Drive 3M results with weekly conference calls with 3M Certified Specialists

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of current experience in sales management
  • Experience with P21 software solutions preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Willingness to travel and work in a team of professionals
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams
