Kala Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of therapeutics using our proprietary AMPPLIFY™ Drug Delivery Technology, with an initial focus on advancing treatments in ocular diseases.  Kala’s first approved product is INVELTYS™, the first and only corticosteroid FDA-approved for BID treatment of post-operative inflammation and pain following ocular surgery. Kala’s lead pipeline product is KPI-121 0.25%, for the temporary relief of the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease, currently in Phase 3 clinical development. Kala anticipates filing for NDA with its current data set in the second half of 2018.

 

Job Description

Kala is an emerging pharmaceutical company on the verge of commercialization. We are seeking a passionate Communications Professional that has experience working in a fast paced environment.  This is an opportunity for the right individual to come aboard and assist the team in preparation for an exciting commercial launch.  Come join an experienced and highly motivated team!

Key Responsibilities for this role will include:

KOL Engagement 

  •  Identify, cultivate, and maintain long-term relationships with KOLs within the Dry Eye community and ophthalmic anterior segment.
  • Conduct substantial business on-label conversations focused on topics such as product, disease state, and company, at appropriate venues, in and outside the office setting.
  • Execute unique, on label, and approved KOL programing such as out of office programs that are developed in collaboration the brand team(s).
  • This role is expected to compliantly collaborate and communicate with the field commercial team on each assigned KOL, to ensure strategic and tactical cohesiveness.
  • Single point of contact to resolve KOL issues including speaker program feedback.
  • Execute a customer centric needs-based approach with targeted KOLs.
  • Collaborate with sales for speaker selection for local programs.
  • Assisting with on-label KOL development, including speakers, with approved decks and materials.
  • Orchestrate and manage, in collaboration with cross functional teams, advisory panels and meetings.

Orchestrate Kala Presence Strategy and KOL Engagement at National and Regional Conferences

  • Plan and execute KOL engagements and executive encounters at local, regional and national conferences, POAs, in field engagements, and other venues as directed.
  • Present at local conferences as applicable.

Marketing

  • Work with targeted KOLs to obtain feedback on brand-related marketing strategies/materials. 
  • Work with brand(s) to develop and shape strategies.
  • Collaborate with brand(s) and lead tactical initiatives in which KOLs are involved.
  • Round tables, Videos, Advertorials, Etc.
  • Provide advisory board participant recommendations.
  • Provide speaker recommendations to marketing.
  • Assist in the execution of commercial contracts.
