Additional Information

Context:
Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD), based at Harvard’s Kennedy School and working in Nepal in partnership with Daayitwa, is dedicated to using rigorous evidence to address challenging questions at the intersection of economic development and public policy. Our cutting-edge research examines questions related to governance, financial inclusion, skills training, gender, and sustainable development, and it draws from a network of expert academics with expertise in Nepal and around the world.

EPoD and Daayitwa are currently seeking a number of Research Assistants to support a new field-based research project which aims to understand candidate selection and the characteristics of the newly elected local political leaders in the context of the recent local elections held in Nepal in May. This project seeks to lay the groundwork for a larger research agenda evaluating the impact of decentralization on service delivery, state capacity, and ultimately economic performance. Towards this research aim, Research Interns will be required to collect administrative data, reconstruction census data and election data.
