Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with 4-7 years of professional experience to join our Finance department in our New York City office. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries for the monthly close cycle in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversee AR processes, including invoicing and cash receipts entries
  • Complete AP processes, including check runs and payments
  • Cash Flow
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of revenue and expenses for assigned departments
  • Prepare and post Journal entries to record assets, depreciation, payroll, prepaids, accruals
  • Complete bank account reconciliations and GL reconciliations
  • Review employee expenses, get proper approvals and submit totals to ADP for reimbursement and post JE in books
  • Proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies. Research and explain account fluctuations
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures 
  • Assist with 1099s and other tax requirements 
  • Sales tax filings 

Qualifications

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 4-7 years of related experience (GL/month end close, financial statement preparation)
  • Detail oriented, well organized, ability to work independently
  • Must be able to maintain confidentialities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of QuickBooks
