Job Description

Europe Express in Bothell, WA has an opening for a Sr. Accountant.  The Sr. Accountant performs a wide variety of regular and recurring moderately complex accounting functions.  The applicant must be proficient in GAAP, have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a staff accountant with duties of reconciling bank statements, prepaid assets, receivables, deferred revenue, and accrual accounts.  Additionally, candidate will have processed month end transactions, generated income statements, processed B&O taxes and 1099 filings.  Ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a team player with the ability to lead, well organized and self-motivated. 

 

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Month end functions- journal entries, P&L reviews, variance analysis, reporting
  • General ledger reconciliations monthly
  • Review and post financial statements for foreign subsidiary
  • Reconcile corporate credit cards, ensuring the underlying support and approval is adequate, investigate and resolve any reconciling items
  • Proactively identify and communicate internal process improvements to optimize efficiencies and or improve quality of work
  • Respond to inquiries from co-workers, managers, vendors, or customers
  • Prepare monthly B&O Taxes and manage annual 1099 reporting requirements
  • Daily reconcile credit card transactions receipts
  • Prepare weekly and monthly cash forecasting
  • Prepare weekly summary and reporting on booked revenue
  • Approve vendor invoices in banking system
  • Process quarterly and annual consortia payments according to terms negotiated in contracts
  • Review and update commission structures within reservation system annually or as needed
  • Assist when needed with A/P and A/R duties
  • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Utilize extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Other tasks as assigned by managment

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience with A/P, A/R and G/L responsibilities 
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
  • Public accounting- audit experience preferred
  • Detail oriented, organized, ability to prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel including pivot tables, formulas, graphs, and charts
