Job Description

The role of the Group Sales Agent is to drive quality Group sales volume in line with the Europe Express business objectives, qualify customers, understand their needs and provide them quotation(s) for travel arrangements in a timely and accurate manner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Handle group inquiries via call center, electronic channels or correspondence
  • Assess and anticipate the needs of each particular group by phone conversation prior to confirming product or pricing
  • Sell consultatively, suggesting and offering product and services that will enhance the customer experience
  • Produce complete quotations using our reservation system
  • Present quotations outlining expectations for customer responsibilities (required deposit(s), booking process, final payment due date, and utilization guidelines)
  • Conduct scheduled follow-up(s) with customer to insure client has all information to confirm or decline a quotation
  • Preserves research and other information to be used by Group Operations and Document Agents for final documentation presented to customer
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers
  • Collaborate with Group Operations Agents in areas of shared responsibilities

Qualifications

  • European destination or European travel knowledge required
  • Previous travel industry experience or previous experience in customer service is a plus
  • Strong Customer service and Sales skills
  • Solid computer skills (MS Office) and experience in reservation systems designed for Tour Operators is an advantage
  • High level of verbal and written communications skills.
  • Patient and understanding with the ability to remain calm in a stressful situation
  • Flexibility, team spirit and the ability to handle pressure
  • High school diploma or GED required

Duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office environment. Environmental conditions generally include ambient inside temperature, ambient inside lighting and ambient inside low noise levels.  Mobility demands generally include frequent sitting and occasional standing.  Sensory demands generally include keyboarding, computer terminal and telephone operation.
