Kala has applied the MPP technology to a corticosteroid designed for ocular applications, resulting in two lead product candidates. The product candidates are INVELTYSTM(KPI-121 1%) for the treatment of inflammation and pain following ocular surgery, for which we have submitted a NDA, and KPI-121 0.25% for the temporary relief of the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease, which is currently in Phase 3 clinical development.

Accounts Payable Specialist

Kala is an emerging pharmaceutical company on the verge of commercialization. We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join a growing and dynamic organization.  This is an opportunity for the right individual to join Kala at a very exciting time – enabling you to play a vital role in determining key processes.  Come join an experienced and highly motivated team!

Key Responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Process invoices and payment to vendors accurately and timely
  • Reconciles A/P aging to general ledger
  • Prepare all related IRS filings
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
  • Monitors vendor discount opportunities; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
  • Develop and maintain a system of controls over the accounts payable process

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:    

  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounts payable experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Experience with enterprise accounting software, Oracle highly preferred
  • Proficiency with MSOffice programs, particularly Excel
  •  Detail-oriented and organized
  • Previous experience at a publicly traded company
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple, competing priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • Life Science, Biotech, Pharma experience preferred
