Stellar Industrial Supply, a top regional distributor of Industrial MRO, Metalworking, Safety and 3M products, has an immediate need for a Part-Time Payroll Administrator, approximately 20-30 hours per week, in our Corporate Office in Tacoma, WA.  The position reports directly to our HR Director.

Job Description

In this role you’ll administer payroll and assist in HR administration.  Major responsibilities and expectations include:

Payroll:

Serve as primary for Payroll Processing

  1. Prepare and process multi-state payroll (WA, OR, and CA)
  2. Run and review payroll audit reports to ensure 100% accuracy in payroll processing
  3. Ensure company compliance with all payroll, best practices, legalities and regulations
  4. Work with payroll vendor to insure timely W2/tax reporting, quarterly and annually
  5. Assist in the support of the annual financial statement and 401k audits
  6. Work closely with accounting staff to ensure accuracy of payroll, labor costs, and employee benefits postings to the general ledger
  7. Serve as liaison with payroll providers
  8. Compile and interpret financial payroll and labor cost data and assist management in making strategic decisions
  9. Assist employees and new hires with all things related to payroll provider including timekeeping and logging in and out

HR Administration:

Other duties that will apply

  1. Maintain basic HR files for employees
  2. Prepares new hire packet for new employees
  3. Assists with new employee orientations, introductions to other departments, reviews all related new hire documents and policies
  4. Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in payroll systems, and/or other related HR experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and time management
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be detail oriented and possess strong communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently, as well as within a team, are essential
