Job Description

Stellar is looking for a sales professional to drive new business opportunities in the Santa Fe Springs area, This position is supported by our Customer Experience Team in Upland, CA.  This hunter styled sales role includes a variety of activities that include learning about our service capabilities, working with our Specialists and vendor representatives, increasing product knowledge, and constantly striving to find ways to save our customers both time and money.  Successful candidates will be familiar with the area, effective communicators, strong organizers, good listeners, and always on the hunt for new connections.  This position requires quick thinking, initiative, and determination.  

It is the responsibility of the Account Manager to build his or her account base to its maximum sales and gross margin potential, while upholding Stellar’s Vision:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

More specifically, it is the responsibility of the Account Manager to:

  • Create, prepare and implement key account sales plans, including SalesForce and Documented Cost Savings (DCS) activities
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations with focus on building long-term relationships
  • Clear communication on customer needs with the Customer Experience Team
  • Understanding Stellar's service abilities: Stellar Managed Inventory (SMI), Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), response times, technical abilities, contract agreements, etc.
  • Prospect new accounts
  • Meet or exceed budgeted amounts monthly and YTD
  • Constant and clear communication with Sales Manager on impediments to progress, suggestions for improvement, and new opportunities
  • Constant development of product knowledge
  • Utilize manufacturer sales reps. to help develop accounts and territory
  • Strive to be a value-added sales person, always look for ways to save the customer both time and money
  • Display consistent “can-do,” positive attitude. Strive to constantly improve

Qualifications

  • Preferably three to five years relateable outside sales experience
  • Industry related experience is desirable but not required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Well organized
  • Proficiency working with MS Office
  • Must have ability to manage prospects in CRM (SalesForce)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver License
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel overnight
