 We are looking for an Athletic Trainer (ATC).

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Coordinating the patient flow for assigned physician in the clinics from beginning of treatment until discharge from care. The purpose is to assist in continuity of care during the patient’s treatment plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Facilitate patient flow as the dedicated staff member assigned to specific physician.

Maintain complete patient medical information in the medical record while confirming that all necessary data is in place before the patient/physician encounter.

Assists the physician in procedures such as joint injections by prepping the patient and preparing all necessary equipment and materials.

Document appropriate medical information at patient visit and any telephonic information regarding the patient in the patient record with signature or initials and professional title.

Schedules off-site patient tests or procedures at appropriate facilities based on insurance coverage and physician preference.

Maintain exam room supplies and sample medication inventory. Check expiration dates on medications and supplies before dispensing.

Prepare for clinic days by assisting nurse in reviewing all patient charts in advance in order to confirm all information such as test results, x-rays, MRI’s, and CT’s are present for the patient’s visit.

Confer with appointment and surgery schedulers in order to maintain an efficient and productive physician schedule.

Greet patients and families with a smile and professional demeanor.

Maintains strictest confidentiality
