Job Summary

Interacts with other engineering groups to design new electronic products up to full production. This includes specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, documentation packages, preproduction builds, and transfers to production. Also responsible for technical support and upgrades of electronic products currently in production. Creates and assists in the definition of internal quality control standards and documentation related to electronic products.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform technical functions such as electrical design of new products and upgrades to existing products
• Contribute to research and development efforts for future GATR products
• Create, write, edit, and maintain (revision control) internal GATR procedures relating to electronic products
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge and interest in satellite communications, radio frequencies, microwave technology, antennas, and amplifiers
• Demonstrated ability to write technical documentation and procedures
• Must be a self-starter with a strong focus on quality, details, and results
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision

Credentials and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or physics (other disciplines considered based on experience)
• At least 3 years experience in design, repair, and analysis of electronic systems
• Prior satellite communications knowledge is a plus
