Stellar Industrial Supply, a distributor of Industrial MRO, metalworking, safety and 3M products, has an immediate need for a Credit Analyst at our corporate office in Tacoma, WA.  

The Credit Analyst is responsible for the extension of credit and collections of Accounts Receivable including consistent application of company credit policy, periodic reviews of existing customers, and assessment of creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

More specifically, it is the responsibility of the Credit Analyst to:

1. Customer account management:

   Collections and anything related to customer accounts including:

       •Extending credit

       •Reviewing and adjusting credit limits

       •Releasing orders on-hold

       •Communicating with sales staff on issues

       •Maintaining records – credit applications, resale certificates and UCC filings

       •Contacting customers regarding past due balances

2. Customer invoice/payment issues

   Reconcile customer statements/billings

3. Customer write offs

   Determine accounts with bad debt to be written off with approval

4. Customer credit report/update

   Compile reports regarding finance and credit data

5. Email customer requested invoice copies

6. Request new ship-to’s for customer accounts

7. Process credit application reviews

8. Perform credit investigations through available reports: D&B Credit Reports, bank references, and other information available

9. Setup and process new customer accounts

10. Setup and process prospect accounts

• Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field
• 3-5 years of experience with Credit, Collections and/or Accounting
• Knowledge of credit and collection terms and concepts, and basic accounting concepts
• Positive can-do attitude with a team player mentality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Well organized and pays attention to details
• Proficient in MS Office
