Daayitwa is a campaign for economic empowerment with the vision of an enterprising Nepal where every youth has opportunities for a prosperous future.  It operates three clusters at grassroots, government and global levels.  It supports rural growth-oriented entrepreneurs to accelerate their innovations and grow other entrepreneurs in their local communities.  Leveraging the grassroots learning, it collaborates with the government to conduct policy research and advocate for economic policy reform.  Finally, it transforms these interventions into a global campaign that nurtures enterprising mindset in Nepalis by bolstering leadership capacity in enterprise ecosystem stakeholders.

Job Description

Position Title:           Research Intern
Program:                   Daayitwa Fellowship Program, Governance and Research Cluster.
Contract Duration:   3rd December 2017 to 28th February 2018
Based:                       Kathmandu
Weekly Hours:          42 hours (Full-time)
Priority deadline: 9th December 2017 (8:00 PM) 

The intern will receive supervision from the Governance and Research Coordinator and will have following responsibilities: 

  • Support the Governance and Research  Team in preliminary fellowship issue research

  • Assist in creating research support materials, i.e database of journal articles, important web links, acts, policies, rules, etc

  • Provide logistical support to the Governance and Research team.

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate in any field of study

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a diverse, team-oriented environment

  • Strong motivation, self-starter nature and organizational/time management skills

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Nepali

Additional Information

Daayitwa  Nepal Public Service Fellowship Program is a platform for collaboration with government officials and members of parliament on high-priority projects. The fellowship projects have a strong emphasis on actionable policy analysis, which leads to evidence-based innovation in implementation. As such, Daayitwa Initiative wants to strengthen its capacity to provide technical guidance for preparing and executing rigorous and scientific research design and analysis methods. The intern will work closely with the Fellowship team in this campaign.
