Job Description

Nazarbayev University's School of Engineering invites applications for two (2) full-time faculty positions to begin in January 2020 at the Master of Engineering Management (MEM) Program and the Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) Dept. 

For the MEM Program, we are interested in the following areas:

1.      Engineering Decision Tools (Linear Programming, Integer Programming, Non-Linear Programming, Decision Making) – Advanced Statistics and Probability – Operations Research Methods (Dynamic Programming, Markov Analysis, Simulation, Waiting Lines/Queueing Theory Models)

2.      Project Management – Big Data & Information Management, Supply Chain Management

 For the CEE Dept., we are interested in the following areas:

1.    Structural Engineering – Structural Mechanics, Nonlinear Modeling, Numerical Analysis, Health Monitoring, Steel Structures

2.    Geotechnical Engineering – Geotechnical Mechanics, Nonlinear Modeling, Numerical Analysis

3.    Transportation Engineering - Highway Engineering, Flexible Pavement Engineering

Initial appointment is on a 3-year renewable contract and subsequent appointments can be 5-year/3-year renewable subject to annual performance reviews. An attractive internationally competitive remuneration package will include: Internationally competitive salary; A startup grant for conference travels and building collaborations; Holiday leave of 56 days per annum; Two flights for the appointee and dependents home per annum (excluding Kazakhstan citizens); International health insurance; Rent-free housing for the appointee and dependents; Assistance for relocation expenses including air fares for the appointee and dependents(excluding Kazakhstan citizens); and an educational allowance for dependent children (excluding Kazakhstan citizens).
